A friend of mine in NZ spotted this ad.  Great piece of recruitment advertising from the folks that run Murder Burger in Auckland.  Interesting blog too for a burger joint. I’m Lovin’ It.

Astonishingly for a self confessed Luddite, Noel Gallagher is preparing to embrace the power of interactive to get fans truly engaged in the launch of Oasis’ newest album, ‘Dig Out Your Soul’.  In a comepellingly two way campaign, the band will release sheet music with NME’s September 17th issue, for fans to interpret themselves, record then upload to (more…)

In a world full of one’s and zero’s its nice to see someone creating pretty tasty fine art. I’m sure even in this ever impending doom and gloom credit crunch even the most hard up of us wouldnt be tempted to chip away at these masterpieces! http://www.adrianfirth.com/page2.htm

What would Victor say?

Hot on the (high) heels of Glue’s Keeley Hazel downloadable desktop babe widget, Albion have created a desk top hunk for Remmington to engage and wow its consumers.  He dances, does the house work and generally dishes out compliments. And if you are not completely satisfied you get your money back! Well maybe if Victor Kayam was still around.

Classroom

Craig Barrett,The Chairman of Intel, is urging politicians in the US to act to make sure that education providers do not fail the youth of America. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7571211.stm

It got me thinking about what schools and colleges in the UK are doing to strengthen our place in the world of technology and digital communications.  If “Nations are as strong as their educational systems” as Barret told the Intel Developers forum so agencies and technology businesses are only as good as the people that these establishments produce. Any Advice is Good Advice, Right?

Wrong.

Unsurprisingly. However, I do believe there’s something useful here. Campaign have been putting out this series of pamphlets, another was Jean Marie Dru’s “Disruption”.

first job

This particular installment re acquaints us with advertising’s book of HOW, or at least how to get your first job that is.

Scamp created some controversy last month with a post entitled “This Man is Dangerous, He Must Be Stopped“. A live web chat featuring Dave Trott ensued, and a subsequent poll declared than infact Dave Trott was less dangerous than had been initially anticipated, and that stopping him would in the end be unnecessary.

Polls and opinions aside, I’m glad of two things:

Firstly that Campaign are putting out this series for aspiring advertisers: whether they were written 30 seconds or 30 years ago, they were penned by some of the most successful and finest minds of this industry and thus deserve consideration.

Secondly, my faith in our generations desire to dust off, read, and take insight from yesterdays experts has been bolstered.

Food For Thought

Marketing Alternatif I’m happy to admit is one of my favourite blogs to visit: succinct, image heavy (which aids my waif-like grip of the French language no end), and always different.

Giant Carrots

Looking at this particular piece of outdoor marketing initially made me chuckle slightly at the prospect of ambling haphazardly in to some genetically altered giant vegetable when wandering the streets, like a scene from George’s Marvellous Medecine.

Familiar Words

This sign certainly isn’t unique. There must be millions like it all over the world; think about how many you’ve seen in the last few days. But it did get me thinking; two words succinctly serving the purpose of keeping some people out, and letting others in.
